According to the reports for year 2017-18, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has estimated that India generates approximately 9.4 Million tons per annum plastic waste, (which amounts to 26,000 tons of waste per day), and out of this approximately 5.6 Million tons per annum plastic waste is recycled (i.e. 15,600 tons of waste per day) and 3.8 Million tons per annum plastic waste is left uncollected or littered (9,400 tons of waste per day).

An alternative solution, Bio-based plastic carry bags / films has been introduced i.e. compostable plastics (100% bio-based) carry-bags / films conforming to the standards of IS/ISO: 17088. We chose to work on this solution as we believe this is a viable alternative to the mess created by Single use plastics. We hope to leave this planet a better place to live for our future generations.
